Prediction of e-learners’ progress and timely assessment of the achievement of learning outcomes in Lifelong Learning

CRITON project introduced at the symposium “Qualification in the Penal System” in Wiesbaden

On February 14 the symposium “Qualification in the Penal System” was held in Wiesbaden.  The cooperation-partners of the CRITON project in Germany (NINJA) used this opportunity to introduce the CRITON project to 20 persons responsible in the field of justice and administration. During the symposium the CRITON project was introduced with its aims and targets. Many interested listeners noted that a platform for predicting the learners’ progress and for timely assessing the achievement of learning outcomes might be very useful for their target group later on. CRITON leaflets were distributed and questions were answered after the presentation.

The NINJA project focuses on supporting young offenders with social and job-related matters during their time in and after release from prison. NINJA stands for “Netzwerk Integration für junge Inhaftierte und Haftentlassene in Ausbildung und Arbeit” which roughly translates to “network integration for young offender into educational and work life”. The young prisoners have different levels of education and mostly show signs of learning disabilities. This makes it very difficult to reach all participants with classroom teaching. As it is one of NINJA’s long-term objective to involve the young offenders into e-learning this is where the cooperation with the CRITON project takes place.
